Frequently Asked Questions

Football is important but certainly not always life’s biggest priority. There will be family functions, weekends away and illnesses so team’s will sign enough players to fulfil all league fixtures throughout the season.
Each team will have a manager and an assistant. All team managers will be supported by Coach Stel throughout the season. All our coaches main aim is to accelerate the development of all the players in a happy and safe environment.
Please give the management team the respect and commitment needed for the team to succeed. Please also speak to your child about having a serious attitude in training/matches.
A grass roots football club is only as successful as the support from parents. Please be prepared to help out your coaching team as much as they need. Refereeing home games should be done by all parents on a rotational basis.
If you’d like to get more involved, here’s a list of official roles that every team needs:

– Assistant manager – EVERY manager needs an assistant! Someone to bounce ideas off or to consult before changing formation/players. Managers will approach parents about this but feel free to volunteer directly.

– Team communicator – All training and match info is communicated on WhatsApp. Sending efficient messages keeps the team running smoothly. Confirming fixtures with opposition managers as well as reporting results to the league are also part of this role.

– Match Day Delegate – This is the person responsible for resolving match day disputes (uncommon at U12’s), welcoming opposition and referees, keeping an eye on spectator and manager conduct.

– Referee Fee Administrator – we try to book qualified or trainee referees for all our home matches. The referee fee is split across all parents. Collecting payment from parents is not possible for the team manager so the team will benefit from a parent taking on this job.

– Home pitch set up – from time to time, we will play at venues that need some pitch set up. This may require a team of parents to arrive early and help move goals, put up nets or mark out pitches with cones/flat discs.
We will continue to use our club shop next season in partnership with “discount football kits”.
Once registration has been completed, parents will receive a link to the club shop where they can purchase their child’s Nike yellow short sleeve home shirt and their dark blue (obsidian) training top.

Could all parents please ensure their child has a yellow home top and also a dark blue (obsidian) short sleeve training top. These can be used for all training sessions and also can be worn as an away kit if needed. There are various additional training items as well as clothing for supporters!

(Please note, kit is not included in the season 2024/25 fees).

There is plenty of stock at the moment so we suggest you get this sorted quickly.
Some of our teams have appointed a parent to coordinate a bulk order of kit/training wear to avoid multiple delivery charges. (£8.99 for orders under £100). Assistance can be given for this.
Season 2024/25 fees were discussed and set by the committee.
